Sat down the other night to watch this film, dont be suprised if you havn't heard of it, niether had I, however there might be some SPOILERS!!!! Capitalise that, to make people aware, that I might post spoilers.
Now the general reason for this film, so I have found out is that it was made to be the "goriest" film ever made, well it certainly succeeds.
The first 10 minutes starts really well, and looks like its going to be hell of a film, a new age gore film, but using old skool gore, lots of badly molded and sculpted body parts, blood gushing everywhere, the kind of stuff you see on early Romero films.
Well thats about where it ends for me, I sat through it just to watch it, and to be honest, there was an overload of gore, just far to much, the film is very eratic aswell, you arent really sure who the characters are, why they are there, however the female lead character, quite attractive, Japanese and looks good with katana.
So the film synopsis, my personal rendition of it. Sometime ago, there was a split in the Japanese police force, the Tokyo police department head honchos wanted to privatise the police, the officers didnt want to be privatised, people get killed, police get privatised... In the midst of all this, one guy plays around with genes from murderers and crims, he goes a bit bonkers after injecting himself with all these genes, what he then develops, is a key like gene....
Key like gene, enters the body and turns you into an "engineer" which basically means you cant really die, unless this key is severed from your body, but if you loose any limbs, you can grow them back into what ever you want the to be, usually weapons
I will be honest, from the first 10 minutes I really had no idea what was going on, and still dont, now I suppose this all down to the fact that all the way through the film you are left wide eyes open speachless apart from the words "What...The....f
k" Honestly this film is fked up....
All of the deaths are nasty, really nasty, chainsaws into the face, slicing people in two, however there are things advertised on the tele within the film, like a Wii game, which you use your Wiimote as a katana to execute people...
I honestly cant describe how fked up this film is, this really isnt for the feint of hearts, infact at around 50 minutes into the film there is a 15 minute section of some crazy sex party, and all I wanted to do was insert a blunt object into my skull, that sex scene was so horrible, by the end of it my imaginary .50 magnum had fired all six shots into my skull, and I was now just greeted with a click, over and over again.
Then the film just gets more eratic, but some of these engineers loose limbs, and some of the weapons they recreate as limbs, is just vile, like the elephant trunk penis that shoots people, or the tits that lactate acid at high velocity
Now I am gore fan, but this, this film will change you in ways you will never ever know, you need to remember what has been seen cant be unseen, admitdly it is poor gore, but the down right exectuions in this film are just horrific and for me have stepped that invisble boundry between cool, and down right silly, disgusting and fked up
