NHS careers - anyone here help?
Discussion
My wife is looking at getting back into work after six years of looking after our family.
She is considering:
1) Biomedical scientist
2) Clinical scientist
3) Nurse - with the idea of moving up the ladder
She has an MSC in Microbiology and experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
Does anyone work in NHS careers or can anyone help with advise of how to get into these careers?

As a Biomedical Scientist (BMS) myself (and working on a locum basis whilst trying to get a proper job) your wife will need to be Health Professions Council (HPC) registered to get a job as a BMS. Similarly Clinical Scientist vacancies will need rather more than pharmaceutical exprience. Can I suggest that she contacts the Institute of Biomedical Sciences (IBMS) for advice on careers in pathology laboratories.
I'm quite to happy to offer advice if you wish.
Regards
John
