I’ve recently purchased Dave White’s RT/10, and now he’s finalised the GTS deal, I thought it polite to come on and introduce myself. After spending a few months looking for Vipers, just missing out on a white one (but then finding images of it buried in a wall, so a close call) I actually read Dave’s advert post before it was even signed off by Pistonheads, and knew it was the one for me.

I felt a little like I was buying one of Dave’s children, so didn’t dare negotiate (but to be honest the car was in such a great condition I’d have been daft to quibble). On collection day poor old Dave showed me through a ton of boxes that came with car, and I must admit it did feel a little heart wrenching – especially when he forlornly picked up a box of spark plugs, and signed ‘theses are some old spark plugs…’ whilst staring into the distance. Needless to say I resisted the urge to lay down two long black lines away from his house (only kidding Dave!), and dutifully short shifted to 5th and rolled away.

My time so far with the Viper has been amazing, I cannot believe how positive a reaction it creates from the public. The other morning I was trying to cut across four lanes of gridlocked London rush hour traffic, which would normally require super-aggressive lane changes; in the Viper I simple whacked on the side repeater, and to my amazement four lanes of traffic stopped to open a channel for me… I’ve never seen anything like it. I must confess to have partaken in some needless revving in traffic for little kids enjoyment…

Hopefully I’ll get along to the next thing you chaps do, and I can say hello in person. Till that day comes, hello in text smile

Welcome aboard,

There's nothing like driving along in lane 3 of the motorway and even BMW's pull over like the parting of the sea's. Watch out for the tts that sit on your offside never overtaking though.

Enjoy, and like we always say to new owners, take it easy for a while, there is stacks of Torque in that right foot that can bite, especially in this rain.

Hi Rowly! Glad to see that you have now introduced yourself, as we discussed the next major meet is at Duxford American Air Day on Friday the 21st August, the car was already down for this and Tony (the organiser) has confirmed that it is not a problem for you to attend.

Viper Events list is here: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... Dates

American Air Day Attendees List: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... - American Air Day & Car Show - Attendees List

I know what you mean about revving that car, it just sounds awesome, you can't help yourself!

Hopefully see you and the car again soon... Enjoy! (Look after Her! ) thumbup

It is that, I was totally naive and was a bit taken aback by the reaction the car causes!

Welcome Rowley, you'll find everyone on here is most helpful!

be careful if you take the roof off Rowland - could be difficult as it may well be the first time it's ever happened hehe
