After alot of interest in one or two of my pics i've decided i'd like to create my own site. I'd like people to be able to choose a picture and order it in a variety of sizes and on a couple of different materials. How would you say is best to about this?
Is it easy to do yourself?

Easy? - nope, I'd say at the very least you're going to need an image gallery & a shop.

The web site can be fairly easy with free templates and WYSIWYG editors if you don't know HTML.

Do you want to do the printing and posting yourself or do you want a pro lab to do the printing and shipping?

There are lots of options for either.

Photobox 'pro' galleries are an option - you start a new album, upload images to it and set your own prices, and then they sort out the money, printing and postage (in return for a commission). Accumulated loot builds up in a credit account which you can either use for your own orders, or transfer to a bank account.

The Photobox route would probably suit my needs for now. I'm by no means a pro at all and i've only come to this decision after alot of people have shown interest in some of my more 'arty' shots.
Thanks guys.

It doesn't matter - all it means is that you can set your prices above normal Photobox prices and therefore try to make some beer money from your labours.

Well I have several albums there but just as it was all going well, Photobox thought they'd change everything - so I now have one group of albums with photos in, and another group of albums with nothing in, and every time I delete the empty albums they keep coming back again banghead

I can log in as me, but if I go back to the homepage and pretend I'm someone else, I can't find them. fk it.

Simpo: according to their FAQ, they know about the problem - it does say not to try to delete the albums, though.

I have a gallery at http://www.photoboxgallery.com/grahamdphotos

still working on adding stuff to it, though.

Thanks - I was fooled by the link under each album called 'delete', which I assumed would delete the album. That'll teach me to jump to conclusions...

I really hate it when companies have something working perfectly, then complicate it until it breaks and call it progress.

I use Jalbum, just to show my pics on my website as it's really easy to do (no purchase options, though). I am going to join the band-wagon and create a Photobox Gallery. I'm also looking at PhotoExpress's Darkroom web software, but there's only 1 UK Lab that will print and drop ship but it's quite good - it does a lot but you have to put a lot of effort in to customise it to how you want.
