Left my Chim at Central TVR in Stourbridge yesterday to have the damage repaired and the Type R light upgrade put on, and a total front end respray.
They're pretty busy there at the mo, and it's probably not going to be ready till the end of
Feburary 
Oh, well, I guess it gives me time to do a bit of post Xmas saving up, and think how much I'll have missed her by then! It'll be like owning one for the first time again!
It's going to cost a bit more than I originally anticipated, but worth it to get her back to stunning condition.
Can't wait to see what the Type R lights look like, personally I think they're very sexy, and mean looking at the same time. Bring the car up-to-date a bit.
Has anyone here had this conversion done to their Chims? The guy in the bodyshop said he'd only fitted them to Cerbs before. There's one pic on TVR bodyshop website of one, but has anyone else got any other nice pics of the conversion?
I'm so excited already about getting her back, the next 2 and a half months are going to be hell!!

Just think of the fun when you get it back!!
Just got mine back after a week, it was having the chassis sides repainted and waxoyled. I missed just seeing it on the driveway, god knows what I would have been like if I had to wait till Feb to drive it!!
Having said that no fuel bill for two months or the missus banging on about no where to park......

True! Also a couple of monthes without boy racers, mondeo drivers, Golf TDI's and BMW's spoiling for a fight!!
I love it really!! It's going to be hard, i think I might regress back to my boy racer days and buy a 1.9 205 Gti till then!! I love those little cars and I've needed a workhorse car for a while now, to pile the miles on. Also they're bloody great fun!!

Don't mean to sound negative....but...what i don't understand is that you dropped the car off on the 18h December to have approx 7-10 days worth of work done but then have to wait till the end of Feb to have the car back? You mention that the garage is busy so why didn't they have the car off you at the start of Feb?

Don't know really. I was thinking that. I think the way they work is that they seem to do all the cars in bulk. So all the cutting, then all the glassing, then all the priming, then all the spraying.
I was told it'll be 72 hours labour all together - so I guess, maybe, 4 hours a day is 18 days.
I was glad and eager to get it undercover anyway, as the rain and damp was eating into the exposed fibreglass and making it worse.
Just think of the money I'm saving on petrol though!!

I think it was resprayed yesterday or today, should have it back in a week or so
6 weeks earlier than I originally thought!
And the chap said that it's the first Type R upgrade he's done on a Chimaera (normally speed 12's) and apparently it looks awesome! Transforms the front of the car! Can't wait now.......
.....watch this space, i'll post some pics when I get it back!
