Just noticed a Flame Red Monaro in Classifieds. I know they do Red Hot and i'm led to believe they do Sting Red but i never knew there was a Flame Red one. I suppose they all have the same colour codes??????????

Different export markets have different names for the same paint codes. Just depends on whether or not another manufaturer in country of sale already has first dibs (registered as a trade mark etc) on the paint name. Devil Yellow in the US is known as Yellow Jacket.

I think Devil's right, Red Hot and Sting Red are the same colour, Red Hot for our market, Sting Red for Oz, Flame Red is a Vauxhall colour but not on a Monaro.

HSV's had Astras in Red Hot. I had a VZ Clubby in Red Hot. Sting Red was an earlier colour starting in the VT's

So MYM8 the answer maybe HSV call it Red Hot, the lowly Holden Sting Red, so therefore VXR's are Hot and CV8'S are Sting.? either way they have the same paint code (f143)

So Mel satisfy your curiosity and ask the seller, pop the bonnet, the code is as you probably know, on the slam panel right hand side.,

Mel calm down dear… I don’t think anybody is disputing that there isn’t a flame red but there is also the other shades of red too, as it says on my name plate under the bonnet “sting red” same as After Shocks and many more VXR's.. It maybe something to do with difference in a CV8 as in your link and a VXR model??? But who know and who cares!!!! hehe O, as for the paint code im sure sting red is 648 or something like that but defo not F143 biggrin

This seems to be yet another myth surrounding the Ro's... laugh
