Recommendation for a Parisian hotel

Evening all,

can someone give me a recommendation for a good hotel in Paris - ideally either a 4 or 5*, or alternatively a quirky boutique hotel that will appeal to a couple of art lovers.

Location-wise, not fussy, although it would be nice to be somewhere typically Parisian (which I know sounds really obvious!). Just don't fancy being stuck in a neighbourhood that's NOT filled with beautiful buildings at every turn, if that makes sense!
