A horror film made for just £45 on a camcorder is to be released in cinemas after impressing a distributor.
I applaud what he's done, but 45 quid? thats just bks. If the locations were "london and wales", and he had to buy a crowbar, and some cups of tea, unless he walked there he's blows the budget without a tube fare. Don't get me wrong, I'm impressed with the trailer for a low budget film, but even if he added a 0 to the end, it would be impressive - so why eggagerate to such a silly extent?

Perhaps all his mates were the "stars" and he had a large supply of ketchup in the fridge, so the £45 was just on the bacon butties to feed the stars?

He's not including the price of the camcorders then? And someone should tell him that Romero already did this, it was called Diary of the Dead.

From the small bits I saw on telly, it looks quite good. As I understand it the story is told from the perspective of being a zombie?

It's called marketing! So they claim the film was made for £45 and can probably justify that based on some dodgy accounting (disregarding travel, time and pre-owned equipment perhaps). And look! It's achieved exactly what they wanted - a slot on national news and people talking about it.

You clever folk that have spotted the flaws in their claims - well done you. Have a gold star and go to the top of the class! Why did you expect the marketers to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth?

Clever marketing with excellent results.

Maybe they owned some of the equipment before deciding to make a zombie film?

It really was made for £45, it was originally a fly-on-the-wall documentary programme filmed on the Gipton Estate in Leeds on benefits payment day when there was a clerical error and many didn't get their fag and beer money through.

It's been re-edited with many violent scenes taken out and re-released as a zombie horror flick.

The thing they would have no doubt forgotten is that normal movie budgets include salaries for directors etc. Even if he is giving up his free time any other film wouldn't be as lucky so it should really be costed at No. Hours spent x an hourly rate. Bet the £45 would spiral into insignificance then!
