Hi all,

I managed to get a nail in one of my rear tyres the other week, luckily it was repairable so I had it fixed and pumped up all the tyres.

I have tried resetting the tyre warning (per the manual) numerous times only for the light to come back a mile down the road.

I've checked the pressures a week later and they're all holding pressure, so I don't think there are any tyre defects.

Anyone know how I can get the light to go away?

Many thanks,
Nick

After you hold the button down and 'set tyre pressure' comes up correct?

Are you doing at least 10miles in one hit to get them set?

It's different to my housemate's M5 (the 'set tyre pressure' message doesn't come up on the e46). I've been holding down the button until the light goes out then started driving - only for it to come back on 1 mile down the road. My journey to work this morning was about 12 miles, so should have been enough for it to learn.

Sorry to hear about the puncture! Typical on a new car.

When you reset the tyre pressure monitor, turn ignition to position 2 (one click before it starts) hold the tyre button so the light is yellow, then start car, drive off and the light will go out.

I automatically assumed I had to hold it till it went out.

Hold the button down until the red light goes out, then press again so the amber light comes on, now drive!

Heh - I manage to pick them up quite regularly! Luckily a friendly garage round the corner has noticed this, so repaired it for free! Still love the car to bits, but putting miles on it at an alarming rate in the last couple of weeks!

Cheers for the tips guys - I will give it a go on the way home. Looks like I've been doing it wrong.
