Couple of times recently I have seen companies listing their IP as assets. Obviously rightly so, but how so you value them and where do they go in the accounts?
One set of accounts I saw was showing a trading loss but massive assets which appeared to be in a series of videos and a set of training materials which they had valued at over £1M. Now I know the videos and materials involved and they are woefully ojut of date and have never really sold in any volume. Can you just make up the valuation?
I can't recall how they had listed them but should IP be listed as tangible or intangible assets in the accounts?
