Hi, I need to get under the centre console, I know there are a few clips that just clip off to let me in there, could somebody tell me how to do it? Cheers, Keith.

pull up the base of the nick nack holder thingy at the back of the console to reveal two screws. Remove them. There is another screw by the drivers left knee and equivalnet one by passenger's right knee. Remove those too. Concole will now lift up a bit. You may have to monkey around with the door release knob (i.e. unbolt it so it comes away with the console) but this latter bit seems to vary from car to car.

Early Chims only have one screw under the nick-nak tray. They also don't have any other screws near knees. Plus the door release is next to gear lever & handbrake, so if an early car it may be easier than mentioned above !!

It all comes off within a minute or two, but getting the gearstick gaitor to stick back in the same place is a pain.

Mine keeps coming up, ive tried sticking it down but the heat just melts the glue......and after every drive i have to spend a few secs tucking it back in so it all looks neat 'n' tidy...

yep, i found in mine i undo the one screw under the nick-nak tray, undo the central door release and handbrake and then pull firmly backwards to release the 2 "prongs" from the front part into the dash.
