I discovered that the differential of my XKR (m.y.'99) looses oil; luckily not a lot, about one drop per three/four days.
A friend told me he had the same problem: he believes it happened because he hasn't driven his Jag for long time, and when he discovered the problem, he changed the old oil with new one and after it everything was ok.

Diffs on the V8 will leak ever so slightly, par for the course.

You need to find out where it's leaking from and consider changing the oil - I know it's supposeed to be a "sealed for life" component, but old and degenerated oil will kill oil seals and lead to leaks.

Clean off the diff body and try to find the leak. It may be the breather/vent on top of the 'diff has worn through vibration and is allowing oil to escape - that's an easy fix - just unscrew the old one and replace. If the 'diff is leaking from either the input or output shaft seals then first of all change the oil. I'd suggest a full synthetic 75/90 API GL5 rather the Shell semi synthetic EP 90 thet's put in at the factory. This may be all you need to do. Oil changing needs a suction pump - there's no drain plug on the 'diff - I made one from some tubing, an old petrol can, and an industrial vacuum cleaner. Even if you still have a slight leak after changing the oil, providing you keep the 'diff oil clean and topped up IMO you'd be better off living with a couple of drips now and then, and only consider changing seals if the leaks get really bad.

Get some clean oil oil in asap.
