I've burnt out my ECU ...

I have had a minor hiccup which has left me needed a new throttle pot and a "new" ECU.

Anyone got any ideas where i might get hold of a replacement/refurbed one for a 4.5 ltr Chim? ID numbers are AMR2175 14CUX, rover number 80405A.

(yes, i've looked on PH classified and flea bay)

The guys at Racing Green have been brilliant, and have lent me one for the time being... which gets me out of the immediate fix i had, as i have signed up for a charity day at Brunters this weekend.

Eric... i have no idea. One minute i was setting the rear wheels alight in the Rotherhithe tunnel, the next ... ah well, at least i will be mobile again for Brunters at the weekend.

I'd be concerned about whether there's an intermittent wiring problem causing that. At least check the engine loom for damage, it would be a heck of a shame to fork out for repairs and then do the same again.

Did the throttle pot die at the same time?

Just thinking that if it was burnt out then there may be a short to 12v on one of its leads.

I did have a word with Sir Charles of Surrey. And whilst is sounds like a corking idea, it is just a "tad" more expensive than a replacement ECU. So for that reason, with regret, "ahm oot".

And i'll put that money towards a Tuscan
