Are tickets covered by the distance selling regulations?

Basically I booked some tickets on the 16th for a show on the 18th, using the 'print your own tickets' option.

I tried to print them on the 17th, was unable as website gave me an error. Couldn't get through on the phones - fking IVR.

Submitted a customer service request on the 19th, explaining that I couldn't print the tickets, and attaching a screenshot of the error.

They have said that as I didn't get in contact with them before the show, it is a case of 'diddums, we are keeping your £120'.

Given that their customer service phone numbers seem to be deliberately designed to pass you from pillar to post, and that it was due to an error on their webste, can I ask for my £££ back?

Matt..

Just keep on at them... i have had free stuff from them in the past for giving me tickets where there was a bad view, so you should be fine with your problem!

Hmmm, I received a reply basically saying 'Foxtrot Oscar'.

Are tickets covered under distance selling? As in 14 days cooling off?

No
Well, not if the concert/gig/play date is within those 14 days, obviously hehe

Can you get your credit card company to issue a chargeback?

Unless concert tickets aren't covered by the Consumer Credit Act, then I believe that the card company are jointly liable for the non supply of your goods - how you prove that they were never received and that you didn't go to the gig I don't know. Probably worth a read of your Credit Card Agreement.

This won't work if you used a debit card - if you recall customers of failed airlines/holiday companies were able to get reimbursement if they paid by credit card.

Not much help now, but I had the same problem. Tried to call, no answer. So emailed them and they replied within an hour or two basically saying just turn up at the venue and collect the tickets there. Just printed the emailed confirmation and no problem at all.

Would be much easier if they just emailed a pdf of the tickets.

Try ringing your bank, they might be able to help. Barclays have a team who deal with debit card issues, maybe your bank does too.
