What carpet glue?

Hello fellow tinkerers,

so I had the carpet out of the footwell in my Sag last weeked (investigating hot air ingress problems as per Graham V's Sag manual), and although I can now tuck most of it back in place, a few pieces need sticking back down.

Can anyone recommend what kind of glue I should be using? I don't want to use anything that'll melt any of the rubber lining it might touch, or damage the bodywork. Have had a few bad experiences with this type of thing in the past (not on the car fortunately).

I've recently had to do a lot of sticking: bonnet heatshield, carpet in passengers footwell. I used STIKATAK Superspray; it's an aerosol used in the carpet fitting industry. Despite what you might think, it's very controllable and delivers a fan which is about 1.5 - 2 inches wide as opposed to that which you'd get from a paint spray. You get a good even application which you don't need to stir around with a finger for the areas you'd normally miss when using a tube. There are others available but I found this one very good .

for the bonnet heat shield you wil need a heat proof glue. I used carpet asdhesive to glue my heatshield up and withing and hour of driving it fell down again. however normal carpet adhesive does the job for the carpet.

^ Mine's been o.k so far. Got a round trip of 600 miles this weekend (Growl and back). If it falls off I'll get back to ya.
