Whilst visiting Le Mans this year I saw an exige without a roof, are they removable? I thought they were fixed?
Your find lots of threads on here about this, but you can get a kit to have a soft top. You should of got an Elise LOL !Edited by Stu_00 on Wednesday 29th July 09:38
Three star headed bolts holding the front edge strip in place, and then one bolt in each corner. It takes me about 4 minutes on my own, although I need an extra pair of hands to place it back on again. It is a nice change to drive topless, although it does upset the aesthetic balance of the design.
I thought I would look at fitting a soft top conversion for the summer when I first bought my car, as I loved ripping the roof of my Elise. I must be honest though, I don't think I can justify it, what with the sate of our current weather climate.

I also did this mod to my exige.

And if it's supercharged? I'm thinking of the exige s with the performance pack i.e 240bhp
Then the roof scoop feeds the intercooler so I suppose in theory you might get a slight drop off in power if you take the roof off. I suppose it depends on what the airflow around the roll bar is like with the roof off. Edited by kambites on Wednesday 29th July 14:56
Got to say, why would you want to take the roof off the Exige? Had an Elise when I wanted a soft top, didn't drive it enough with the roof off to justify not buying an Exige! If you're buying a Performance Pack Exige then I wouldn't recommend taking the roof off or having it modified to be able to. Just my opinion of course. Work on the theory that if you want a roof off car, buy the Elise, if you want more power, buy the Elise SC. However i'd scrub the roof off idea completely and buy the bonkers Exige S with Performance Pack. Granted I'm slightly biased!
