How big can you go

Was thinking of putting some new wheels on the Chim.. Whats the largest I can go to and how large before it starts to have a negative affect on handleing..
Thinking of sending the car to Mark Adams and ACT for some power aid and wanted some new rims and rubber to help cope..and look nice.

Not done it, but it crops up so often on here I can remember the basics.....
16's all round no great difference
17's not that much difference
18's a bit of difference
all the above is dependant on who is talking about it
Someone was talking about 19's but he's not managed to get them on yet
