We have finally got our co-owned MNR on the road!
It has taken what has felt like an age, getting all the documentation and tests passed but its worth it. The MNR feels a hell of alot different to my e36 m3 and I need to get some miles under its belt so I can get used to it but the weather is not helping!

some pics:

(Yes, I know, I need to cut the grass- I'll blame the weather again)

Cheers.
Its a pipercross unit, it really quietens the induction down (for trackday purposes)

And I like the front uprights - where are they from? You've used taper adapters presumably to use plain rose joints instead of ball joints, did they come with the uprights or are they sourced separately?

The uprights are raceleda. We just specced the car with them so I cant give much more info than that at the moment.

once the rain stops, ill be able to check stuff out in detail.

We have to run the car a little for the suspension to settle, we then have it booked in at MNR to have the geo and corner weighting sorted.

Very nice car, looks very well built.

The cars look great when brand new.

Great looking car was it factory built or did you build it, how come you have the side roll bars fixed through the outside of the bodywork, I thought that was their old design or have they changed back

Edited to add: I am also looking at fitting one of those airboxes, is there a filter fitted at the end of the box or do you retain the existing sausage filter inside

The car is a factory build.

Do you have any pics of the other side bar design? I've never seen it.

There is a filter inside the airbox, just before the air reaches the first throttle body. there is no sausage filter and a different ecu map is recommended. We have a powercommander so I am having the map sent to me and i'll load it up.

Pic of other side bar set up (my car)

Bar fixes to the front upright just inside the car (if that makes sense)

Not had my car fully mapped yet just changed to a standard map from my SVA map

thanks for that. I am not sure why there are different design or which my be the old or new?

Ive put 150 miles on the car today and ive thoroughly enjoyed them. what a laugh!

The only problem i am having is a sticky accelerator pedal- if I press the accelerator then lift off and press the clutch, the rev rise slightly. I can pull the pedal back with my foot and the revs drop. It seems the return springs on the throttle bodies are not strong enough. I am thinking of fitting a spring to the accelerator pedal to help close the throttle.

The grip of the car is great but the front end does bounce a little when pushed in a corner.
Has anyone got any suspension setup tips to dial it out?

What tyre pressures you running? I run 18psi in my MNR might be worth checking

I have just checked the pressures eek
In my haste to get out in the car, I didnt check them before. It turns out they where at 35psi.

I've dropped them to 22psi all round and i'll see how it feels.
Do you run 18 psi all round? Is that on the road or track too?

Cheers.

18psi for the road, haven't tracked it yet trying to curb the noise a bit, i think i need one of them pipercross inlets you have, I'm running a 2003 R1 is that the same as yours?

Check them for cracking very regularly, plenty of these have failed.

Yes its a 2003. I dont have any db figures but when we travelled down to MNR to pick the car up, there was another 2003 r1 car next to ours. This car had the sausage filter fitted and was definatly louder from the engine induction area.
I belive you also need the adapter plate so the airbox can be fitted to the throttle bodies.

I am told they have a differnt cast design to prevent this but i'll keep an eye on them!
