Changing the front springs/shocks on mine this weekend with Mr G, then on to swap our bonnet hinges to the Gearld stainless ones we bought, then door re-hanging for both cars with new poly bushes. Pictures to follow of our endeavours

well, we got some done but not all. I'll post some pics later this week.
Managed to change the front springs/shocks and swapped my the bonnet hinges to the nice and shiny stainless ones - and that's it! The bonnett was a bugger to line up with the new hinges though - the old ones were that worn there must have been a fair bit of play in them.
Another weekend to be set asside after my sojourn to France so that we can finish the job!

I think we found a few more jobs on the list Max after feeling the play in your bulkhead bearing
Why is it that you never seem to have enough time to do all the things you want to ?
Norman your hinge bolt kit is spot on and after doing them on Max's car mine should be a lot easier.
How heavy is the bonnet though I'd hate to have to try a bonnet off on my own.

I took my bonnet off on my own and leaned it against the rear garage wall (suitably carpeted on the floor and wall first).
I released the hinges then basically opened the bonnet the same amount as if you were opening it normally and 'walked' it over to the back wall.
It is heavy - and if you try and open it any distance more than normal there's a real danger it will tip over forwards under its own weight and you will not be able to stop it. You certainly can't get it anywhere near vertical on your own.
I found that putting some carpet packing under the front edge then opening it supported by the bonnet strut then releasing the hinge bolts meant that it actually hardly moved when they were undone as it was supported by the carpet.
I honestly wouldn't recommend you do it on your own - I had a few moments where I thought I was going to lose it.

For the novice here...how do you check this? Does it squeek a lot? Mine just started sqeeking from 'around' that general area...

Poly bushes for doors ? tell us more !
well i think they are. they're some poly looking tubes (look a little like Wheat Crunchies , but smoother!) that i got form TVR parts i think. I'll look what they are exactly when i get home. you might even be lucky and get a picture of one if i get time

I think Max is referring to the ordinary Door hinge bushes and bolts supplied by TVR car parts.
When we had Max's car on axle stands we had a poke around to see what other jobs might need doing.
I have already changed my steering bulkhead bearing so thought I would check Max's knowing they are prone to failure. I checked this by holding the upper UJ on the steering column and seeing if there was any play. The column rattled quite easily in the bulkhead and looking at the condition of the nuts it hadn't been replaced from new so my advice was to get a new bearing and while we're at it replace the two steering column UJ's again which can easily fail without routine greasing.
