Design flaw, Key fobs that activate when in your pocket

I'm seriously thinking about getting rid of my car on the basis of a stupid flaw, every time I sit down with the car in key distance the boot opens, have had to remove all effects but have noticed when driving around town the number of mercs parked with boots open, anyone have this problem/solution.

probably not a solution but what about opening the key-fob then disconecting the open boot button? It just means that from now on you need to get in the car to open the boot or use the key. Cheaper than a new car but not really the best solution!

Wear looser trousers? Have to say I've never had that problem or seen it with any other Mercs before, are you wearing spandex?

Stop sitting on your key?

What a ridiculous statement to make. If you actuate the button by sitting on the key... then don't sit on it?! Really don't see the problem with this & it's not going to go away by changing cars/keys because if you keep sitting on keys, it'll keep happening.

Just about everything is controlled by software nowadays - it might be worth a word with the dealer to see if there's anything they can do to either disable the feature or alter the setting so you have to hold the button down longer or something.
Alternatively do as suggested above and bdise the remote - one option it so take it apart and put a piece of paper on the contacts for the boot release button so it doesn't work.
