Might be worth a read, for all of those with 360's just less than 2 years old.

But MS offer a 3 year warranty - in fact mine has just been fixed again and it must be AT LEAST 4 years old.

Can you elaborate on what this means? It's too early in the morning for me to do any thinking!

From what I've read elsewhere, this has yet to be applicable to the UK?

Fully applicable in the UK, just quote the EU directive and see what happens. This was primarily for defects outside the RROD.

Also remember the sale of goods act which requires the 'seller' to sell items of a merchantable quality, and can cover items upto 6 years. If a retailer sells an item with a known defect, they break this the 'seller' is liable not the manufacturer.

Now if all the UK retailers pulled the 360 off it's shelves as they break the above then maybe, just maybe MS would sort things out.

Next time mine gives out I will return it to gamestation with my original bill of sale and see what happens.

I can tell you know what will happen - you'll get a confused look from the semi-trained chimp behind the counter.

They can't comprehend the impact of the domestic Sale of Goods Act, let alone some fancy-pants Euro-bks legislation! biglaugh

My experience is that it's futile trying to argue with 99% of shop assistants - to them, if it's more than 12 months old, it has ceased to be their problem. A few managers are better informed but, almost inevitably, to get anywhere, you have to take it up with the head office.

Warranty for anything other than RROD is 12 months. 3 years only covers RROD, iirc ?

The first three returns for me (approx 1 per year) were fail to read disc errors. The last at 4 years was RROD
