Hi guys, I new to this forum. Picked up my noble M12 GTO yesterday.

Drove it from bottom of england back to northern ireland!! What a motor!

I have one quick question though for people with more noble experience than me please. The car ran perfectly fine on the motorway. We did hit some traffic though, and when it got bumper to bumper/stopping, the temperature rose to about 100. Any other time it sits around 90 and it returned back up to this when we got up to speed again.

Firstly, is this normal, and can it do any harm going over the 100 mark?

Secondly, i know the GTO 3R has upgraded fans etc. Is it possible to add these to the GTO to help with heat issues.

Many Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve, congrats on buying a Noble. First off, which temperature are you refering to - water or oil?

welcome to the forum

yes you can upgrade the fans - the temp on the gto was controlled by a fan switch i think

Hi and welcome,
The fan side of things was not specific to the 3R, probably best have a look at this:

Welcome! I think I may know the previous owner...if it's the car I think it's been very well looked after.

Welcome

If its a 2.5 as seems then the upgrade was a cowl which lifts the fans away from the radiator by an inch or two. If the fans sit directly on the radiator then you don't hae the upgrade

Hi thanks for the response.

I did look and found that the fans are stuck right against the rad.

So you say its absolutely normal for a 2.5? So will it be ok when it is stuck in bumper to bumper traffic or should i try to aviod going near bumper to bumper traffic?

Moreless i am saying, yes its normal, but will it do damage?

Thanks
Steve

Yep, my 2.5 regularly sat around 100 degrees. Never overheated.
