Are these worth it? It's double the price of a similar age normal 1.7 Puma and only about 25 more BHP. I know they're rare but there's plenty in the classifieds. I'm looking for something quick, fun and a bit different but still useable and reliable, what do you think?

Very expensive to fix - especially the bodywork. But a truly great steer.

This one looks like a well cared for example.

Ive had one for just over a year now and absolutely love it. Went from a 1.4 Puma to the FRP. Its not hugely quick in a straight line, although quick enough for me, but in the bends is where it comes alive.

Bodywork can be expensive front bumper unpainted or fitted is now around £1000, and some parts are no longer stocked by Ford. Ive just had my front Discs and Pads replaced and calipers serviced and that lot came to £650, Discs are £450 for the pair as they are Alcon.

I would say Yes.

But the standard 1.7 would also be a good option.

The FRP is a truly amazing car. On a B-road, it never fails to plant a smile on your face.

I was fortunate enough to own one when they were relatively new, so never experienced any problems. However, I know parts are becoming a little hard to source and they do need to be cared for.

I'd recommend one in a heartbeat. Superb.
