Bad news - My Project is for sale
Discussion
Gutted,
You guys might have noticed I havent been around for a while.. well looks my health has taken a turn for the worst and at the age of 32 I have now been confined to a wheelchair. As the ultima wasnt the easiest of cars to get into able bodied.. I dont think I could even manage that transfer..
Im not bitter about all this, just trying to move on, so if anybody is interested in taking my project and seeing it to its completion please drop me a line!
Ill get a advert up in a few days or so.. just trying to get all the info/reciepts togeteher.. but basically I spent over 30grand, and its ALL the best bits, rj suspension stack guages, ap brakes, £4500 of custom orange forgeline wheels (DONT be put off, they are absoulety stunning), and black bodywork..
Im and engineer and have been building nice and slow to a high standard so feel free to take alook..
cheers guys.. the Ultima is still my ABSOLUTE dream car.. just wish i could have driven the thing..
Graeme

Health wise, basically i was diagnosed with Cancer of the spinal column 8 years ago.. had a big op (they removed part of the back of my spine) and told to go out and enjoy life.. which believe me i have
.....
unfortunatly the tumour has caused a cyst to grow, and this has caused the paralysis to occur.. ive just had another op.. but it didnt help and there are no options left for the tumour or the cyst.. so its back out to enjoy life..!
I know this all sounds 'down' but believe me im coping with the situation well - i have a great wife and kid.. and those are the things im grateful for!
anyway 8 weeks after the op and Im trying to book paragliding lessons... and planning on assistive skiing for the winter, so life hasnt stopped yet..
ps have you seen some of the custom wheelchairs? they are well cool - titanium jobbies the lot, with custom paint! i just need to work out how to get an ls7 onboard...!

Hi Graeme
Sorry to hear your news . Keep up the positive attitude . In such cases most peoples "hapyness" returns to normal after a while . You are always welcome here . Did you notice that our house had double doors internaly ? The turn into the bathroom is a bit adverse camber . What tyres are you going for ?
Our thoughts are with you .

Graeme sorry to hear about your ill health.Personally i am not looking for such a beast/car. However i know of a man that is. he asked me to keep an eye out for something interesting, and this fits that criteria! What sort of money are we talking about. (i'll pm you if you want to keep it quiet)

Hi Graeme
I know it's been said many times already in this thread but your attitude is an inspiration to us all. I just hope that when minor irritations come my way, I'll be more mature about how I react to them given the way you're dealing with something so major.
I've actually just bought a GTR but a friend now wants one! Unlike me he's an ex McLaren engineer so is more than capable of taking on a project. Could you please let me have some more details to pass on to him. My email is stevetbrownuk@aol.com.
Thanks
Steve

I'd stick a clause in the sale that you at least want a regular ride in the finished beast
Im sure any prospective PH owner would be up for that!
Ski trips.......... keep me posted, have assisted on a few less abled ski trips but by heck that lot don't hang around!!
Those trikey suspension things are mega fun

Hope you get a buyer soon I'am sure we will all put out the word.
As a skiing nut, I can see here you are coming from. I do ski every year in Breckenridge USA, long way, but it has one of the best assisted skiing programmes I have seen. Run by BOEC (Breckenridge Outdoor Education Centre) my wife has assited for a couple of seasons so if you need contacts let me know. They also run the interantional competitions so there is a challenge.
Good luck and have great fun.
