Roll bar advice for a Fast Red Gen 2 GTS
Discussion
Ok, Im umming and arghing about getting a Roll Bar for the GTS!
I know Autoform produce one, but dose anybody else? The other questions are dose it affect seat travel? Also if you do any track activity, are some FIA Approved and some not? I have seen an Autoform one for sale in the US but I guess because of the size of the thing shipping would double up the costs? Any one out there have one lying around they are no longer using?

I had one on my GTS and yes it does restrict the seat, it may also effect your insurance you should tell your insurance company and some do anything from 25% to 100 % loading.
I assume that this is due to the fact you WILL TRACK IT crash it but send them some hokey claim about you crashed it in a country lane.
If you intend to track it a necessity, if you like the looks then it can be pricey.

Well to be really honest, I like the looks, but hopefully if funds become available I would like to do a bit more time trial stuff, hill climbs etc As for out and out racing on track days I'm not really that brave that i would want to be hanging out the rear end against other European sports cars.
I have heard that some insurance companys bump up your premiums, but I have not yet made any enquiries with my Insurer to find out if this is the case! There ok with all the other bits on the car
Are there any other roll bars on the market apart from the autoform one?

Have to agree with Zed though, tyres are a little more important, and Paul is right it will affect your insurance, and can be a VERY expensive additional premium for this modification, especially if it's only for aesthetics and not actually because you actually need one.

And don't forget, when I bought my car it also came with a spare set of wheels and tyres. Admittedly I have got through the first pair of rear tyres, I then transferred the other set onto the race wheels
So I'm OK for this season (just)

Forgot to add you will also need to cut some quite large holes in the rear panel as the main hoop is connected on the seatbelt rail, the major ones go though where the centre net pocket is and you will loose that.
Shipping is also quite expensive as its quite large and heavy there are also one or two holes to drill in the car.
Give me a call if you have any questions.
