Whats the best home Cinema system ?

Hi all,

Im thinking about upgrading my current Surround sound system and have been looking at Bose,

After reading a lot of feedback on here it seems there are a lot of other systems available that are better value for money.

I would also be using the system to playback music etc.

Im budgeting around 1-2k and hdmi is a must.

If the speaker aesthetic is important then something like a Denon 2310, Gallo A'Diva and an MPS150 sub.

Wipes the floor with the Bose.

Bose would be well worth it if it were 1/3rd of the cost. It sounds good on 5.1 action movies but its music playback is to be much improved, its main selling point is its wife friendly with it having small speakers but thats about it.

I have a bose Acoustimas 17 surround and sub that i connect up to other brand amps dvd players etc.

Have had it for 4 years now and for the environment i use it in, its still the mutts nutts. (IMO)

Got mine from the BOSE Centre in Bicester Village where they (used to at least) sell refurbished kit that was fully warrentied for a significant discount.
