No go and buy it!
It looks fab.
Then if you are passing wilts with it you can show it to me - I want to see one.
There does seem to be an enormous range of prices from 3 figures to 5 - are the cars really that variable in condition?
944 turbos are similar prices for good ones 8k+ but there is nothing under 2K unless its literally in pieces.

They are great cars - I love mine! £7k does sound a bit steep initially, but I spent more than that on mine in the first year (including purchase price), so if it's as good as it looks then I'd say go for it!

Very few actually. I've done around 17k miles in the last 3 years, including a few off-road days and a ski trip to Courchevel earlier this year.

I managed to break a damper when off-roading, and tore an airspring too, plus it wouldn't restart straight away after stalling when in Courchevel but other than that it's been very reliable.

I fitted a new stainless exhaust system after the original manifold started blowing, and have also replaced dampers and air springs too, but other than that it's just been normal service items.

Compared to the P38, it isn't as quiet or refined, especially at motorway speeds, but the Classic has more character IMO and the extra space inside is very useful too.

Drive one first. I always found the suspension too wallowy on the corners. I'd have thought for £7k you could buy a more modern RR/Disco/Landy.

well i spoke to a friend who has one, he had the anti roll bar changed which apparently made a world of difference, to be honest its only for tooling about town in & the odd trip to Wales to see the folks with kiddos on board so I'm not overly worried about that side of things but I do take your point Daz.

It is a wafty old barge, but I find it quite relaxing to drive, and it's great for just pootling around town.

A more modern 4x4 would be better, but they lack the character of the RR Classic.

They are great cars but I would suggest that you spend at least a hour going over it looking for rust. At that sort of money it needs to be spot on.

dealer has assured no rust, they have a full checkover report from their purchase of it & have offered a full unconditional refund if I am in anyway unhappy.

3 on AutoTrader at present. Guessing the middle one is this one.

I have to dispute his claim that you won't find a better one biggrin

yep its the middle one, the other 2 dont have the later soft dash either.

I was tempted by that litchfield supercharged tvr engined 5 litre one at 10k but the guy selling it wasnt the easiest to deal with.... apparently, he "could break it up and sell it for £10,000 in spares "(yet he'd rather have it on the forecourt for 4 months.
