just researching the exige s2 n/a--i read that the roof scoop is purely aesthetic and does not push air into the engine bay--what i read said it was blocked of except in the supercharged versions.I was wondering if thats true and if so has anybody unblocked the roof scoop and piped a ram air/induction kit to it? I imagine the induction noise in the cabin would sound great and may even be worth a few bhp??

I think a few people may have done it on SELOC when the Exige launched, but then most thought it was more usefule to take the roof off and fit the softtop kit instead, and a regular induction kit smile

As you say, the scoop is completely cosmetic on the NA car and serves no purpose. In fact it's a case of the grille on the roof is solid plastic and it's solid fibre glass beind that!

On supercharged cars it does actually feed air to the engine bay, albeit in small amounts. It can be enlarged slightly and used to get more cooler air into the bay but not for induction. Purely for cooling. The vent would never be able to supply enough cold air for the engine itself. In both NA and supercharged cars the induction is to the side of the engine and draws air from the bay which is fed by the side pods.

As few systems exist that use a duct to feed air directly from a side pod to the air intake but thats about it.

I don't know about 240, thats sounds very optimistic, i expect it's more like 210 to 220, but still thats pretty decent and i expect torque would improve throughout the range aswell so all in all it should be fairly noticable
