Supercar and Performance Car Passenger Rides

Just had an email from Mike who is the curator of Grampian Transport Museum in Alford regarding the Supercar and performance car rides. They have 11 cars already confirmed for Tuesday's event, including a Gallardo

If anyone is available on Tuesday, and would like to take their car around the track with some passengers on board, then please get in touch by sending me an email on [e-mail]

The event is very well run, and the marshalls handle the loading of passengers etc. You then do 3 or 4 laps with them on board, going fast in a straight line down the "back" straight, before easing off around the bottom corner and the "home" straight

Not only will you get a free lunch and refreshments, but you will also get a £35 petrol voucher.

Cars on track from about 1pm to about 3:30pm. Arrive around 12 for the free lunch etc.

Some were late last time, and couldn't make it until about 1:30pm, but that was fine also.

If you really are struggling then I will be more than happy to take your car there and return it to you safely afterwards I will even put in a new magic tree air freshener of your choice for it's return

Yes, great fun today but my car got SO hot in the cabin! But I never really noticed while I was blasting it around the track. Great fun and good to meet the other drivers.

Congratulations to Mike and team for organising yet another well run event. Extremely well marshalled. 3rd year in a row for me, best event in the calendar! It does get extremely hot in the cabin but I played my master card ........ 2nd driver.

Hats off to Syd in the Gallardo and Billy in the Cobra - busiest drivers all day. Driver's award to Mrs Syd :-) RS6 sounded the business, a definite queue buster, should have been on the track from the off. Quote 'I will only drive like a girlie' Unquote when asked to take it on track........... then proceeded to blast down the back straight at phenomenal rate of knots. Brilliant!

Had a nice day cruising in the Datsun. Was kept busy enough despite everyone wanting a shot in the Gallardo (including me) and some of the other fine motors there. Excellent day had by all. Shame I couldn't use my brakes enough to stop them squeeking!

Hats of too Mike at GTM for another fantastic, well organised day. Great fun for kids, parents (and of course us drivers!). First ride in Sids Lamborghini will stick with me for a long time.

Hi Justin, yes it is a standard exhaust - seems that spyders of this age are just loud - I test drove an LP560 recently and it didn't sound nearly so loud (in my opinion) unless the sport button was on.

Didn't you fancy doing a few laps then? Might have cut the waiting time down....poor Syd is exhausted!!
