e46 318d 115bhp how does it differ from320d 150bhp

hi all
i have a 54plate 318d m sport 115bhp which is ok but someone has told me its the same engine as the 320d 150bhp does anyone know how it is de tuned and more importantly can it be reversed any advise would be appretiated

My guess would be variable turbine geometry turbo on the 'larger' model.

I would have thought a straighforward remap would take you to the 150 or so BHP mark.
