Anyone know of a decent source of ecu temp sender, as just put my last one on to cure a running issue

Must have gone through 4 in 5 years on the 450 !

Last couple have been from Landrover and so should have kept the reciepts !

Is the thread the same as the cold start injector thermo-switchey-thing ??

Just wondering as I need to add a second temp sensor for my megajolt ECU...

Pretty sure the thermotime switch has a larger diameter thread.

Why do you need 2 temp sensors on the megajolt ? Or are you going to try run in parallel to seee readings first ?

MegaJolt implies ignition only so the original ECU would presumably be retained for fuelling.

(Would have thought it made sense to spend the extra few hours and quid and convert to MegaSquirt (fuel + ignition) while you were at it.)

Does Megajolt really need a coolant temp input? The original ignition doesn't have any coolant temperature compensation, and I don't recall seeing any in my MS1/Extra setup either.

New version of Megajolt has a aux input for a temp sensor to give advance compensation depending on engine temp (& fan control etc) I could use the existing one but it's easier to add another one so I can calibrate it off the car and as the cold start injector is installed in the bin using this tapping makes sense !

Good point about the MS but having considered it I decided to leave the 4CU in charge of the fuel and just improve on the ignition and induction, having had the strobe on it the timing is all over the gaff, however if the ECU packs up in the future it will be replaced by a VEMS and I can sell the MJ on !

That's a bit wierd, aren't you just doubling the amount of learning (and work) involved by switching from MS to VEMS?

Not really, VEMS is what used to be MS-AVR so it's the same product family !

As far as I can see MegaJolt is completely different to MS / MSII

Megajolt apart from the fact it uses the Ford EDIS kit to do the hard bit.
