Orange Mobile Signal Where You Are
Discussion
I've been with Orange for years - I really don't know why given the patchy signal in my county Shropshire.
I've just come along the A5 past Oswestry wanting to make a call and there's a five miles hole with no signal. There are several spots on trunk roads before which I know it's not worth starting a call because I'll get cut off at certain spots. In Shrewsbury there are certain areas with no signal. Quite pathetic really.
Is it the same where you are?

I've never had a problem with a signal on my Orange phones. Have you got a really s
t phone?
Orange allowed me to cancel my contract without penalty given the total lack of signal in my village, so their coverage certainly isn't perfect. No worse than anyone else though IMHO.
t phone? All the networks are patchy to some extent. In my part of Shropshire - Bridgnorth - Orange is the ONLY network you can get any sort of signal on, so I've just gone back to them after years of having company phones on a variety of networks.
In my previous two homes I couldn't get signals on Vodafone, T-Mobile or O2 and that was in a fairly well settled part of Hampshire.

I was with Orange for ten years or so, and as soon as you got out of an urban area the signal always seemed pretty dodgy. Apathy and the fact that they were a nice company to deal with meant I stayed so long. Eventually mustered the energy to swap to Vodafone, and now get a full 3G signal at my house which is in the middle of the countryside. Vodafone's customer care is shocking, but their signal is generally the best.

Which is quite funny because Orange has a larger 3g signal coverage than anyone, but point taken its not everywhereI've been with Orange for 13 years and it seems as if the signal has got worse over that time. My parents' house gets 1 or maybe 2 bars and regularly messages /missed calls come through hours afterwards due to dodgy reception.
There are very very strange dead spots of no reception - A232 around Keston Mark, the A20 just north of the south circular roundabout, and the A2 Blackwall Tunnel approach to name 3 off the top of my head...
My brother recently changed to T-mob because of Orange's poor coverage - only to find that he has no T-mob signal whatsoever at his house!

I'm with Orange and have had a dodgy signal for years. I use a HTC Touch Dual and it will show two bars in most places and then when I come to use the phone the signal drops completley and I then have to wait for a signal again.
Even when I get a signal and use the phone two way conversation is bad, the slightest noise I make or have in the background cancels out what the other person is saying and vice versa!!!!
I'm on contract till Novemember so stuck till then. In the meantime I've jailbroken my phone and got a pay as you go O2 sim. Perfect signal everywhere as well as two way conversation.
Orange helpdesk is useless and just keep asking me to change my phone settings which does SFA.
