Run what ya brung (sic)
Discussion
Howdo folks, been a long time since I posted here, but been lurking a tad recently, thought I'd rejoin the community.
I have a pretty specific reason for rejioning, that being I'm considering a "run what you brung" type event at a local airfield, standing 1/4mile drag races - it appears to be a properly organised event, not a bunch of chavved-up Corsas meeting to recreate the Fast and the Furious, so it looks okay so far...
Thing is, I've never tried this before, and I'm a bit dubious about repeated quick getaways in my new car - it's a Mazda 3 MPS Sports Aero, and it's only two months old, and has barely covered 1,500mi - I know cars don't tend to have strict running-in regimes nowadays, but is 1,500 miles a tad early for giving it a bit of stick?
Assuming it's not a dodgy idea, if anyone's done this kind of thing before and has a few tips to get 255bhp front-driver off the line, they'd be much appreciated.
Cheers folks.
