COD5 - WOW - Worth getting?

Well to be honest I found the exact opposite, the single player was more varied and fun and the multiplayer....The gameplay is monotonous, set pieces aren't a touch on the COD4 ones and as a FPS it does nothing new - nor does it do the basics well.

.....the fact that it has a longer life and kept me playing much longer with a single game mode shows just how much more varied and and deeper the gameplay is. The maps are bigger and better, it's better balanced and far more engrossing. Plus the map-packs and upgrades are free.
Took me a little while to get into but I still play it whereas CoD4 and CoD5 have long since been traded at Blockbuster.
OP won't know until he tries though I suppose.

Well see my opinions on BF: Bad Compnay above, I love it.CoD5 = tripe.
I have traded CoD 4&5 in but always come back to BF: BC.
I will say it's a game that can be very frustrating in Multiplayer to start with, you don't have the good weapons and you will struggle to do anything without being shot instantly....
....you have to stick with it though as it is a game that really rewards skill and experince, this early frustration forces you to play properly as you learn the maps and the weapons it gets really good and far more rewarding than CoD (IMO).
I particularly love it when a game is really close and it goes on for 40+ minutes with one team just edging it at the end. Classic
I had a quick look and got the impression teams were fairly small when played multiplayer. Is that true? I prefer multiplayer on just about all games and the more players the better I find is a good rule of thumb (L4D being an exception that kind of proves the rule.)
I've just reinstalled BF2 for a blast from the past whilst I wait for BF1943 to arrive on PC, and its still a very good game. The graphics aren't fantastic but they're workable, and theres still enough people playing it for it to be a very good game. For a cheap purchase (£7 on ebay inc postage including all the add-ons) its worth considering.

WaW's zombie mode is better than Left 4 Dead imo. Left 4 Dead pissed me off because there wasn't enough content and bang, instead of introducing new content, they just figured they'd rip everyone off further by making Left 4 Dead 2
I agree mostly (not about COD5 zombie mode - not seen it) and I do feel ripped off by Valve - I pre-ordered L4D, paid full price, waited forever for the basic maps to become all versus, and all with the promise of further support - only to be told they couldn't be bothered doing it for free and want another full price release out of it.That said, L4D is still incredibly good - provided you've got a few mates to play it with.
