Finally got the Sag

Picked it up Monday evening and got to say I'm hugely impressed. Feels so much more sorted than the Tuscan and the build quality is noticeably better. And the way it drives! Happily chunters around town (where everyone stops and stares) and corners like its on rails. I loved the Tuscan, but this is something else. If only it wasn't raining now for the rest of the year, or so I am reliably informed by the Met Office.

Car looks great, i am picking one up in a couple of weeks so pleased to hear what you have said about it compared to the tuscan,

I tried to see a few others, but they were always sold by the time my viewing came round. This is the first one I'd been out in and it did come recommended by Richard at Track v Road, so knew it would be a good car.

Not been on a track yet (never have) - it's up there on the to do list chalked up under 'one day'.

Is that for heat deflection purposes? Some cars look good in white but not sure about the Sag as have'nt seen one. The trouble with white is it tends to be a fashion colour......all the rage now but could'nt give them away 5 years ago.

Bye the way, the 'pale blue' topaz is a nice colour. Is this similar to the 'paris blue' I saw on a Sag once?

Out of interest, are you comparing the drive with a Mk I or MK II Tuscan. I am currently debating a Sag or Tuscan, leaning towards the Tuscan for the open air experience

Blues - I had a Mark 2 Tuscan. Never driven a Mk 1, but my friend Chris has driven both and was of the opinion that the Mk2 felt much more stable and less twitchy. I know The Gofer is looking at swapping out the Mk1 steering rack for a Mk2 rack to try and make his Mk1 less twitchy.

Both great cars - you're not going to lose either way.

Thanks Ben, that's interesting. So you feel there is a real improvement i the drivng experience from the Tuscan 2 to the Sagaris. I thought that they were prety much the same car underneath. The hunt continues

It may be the slightly wider track and suspension setup which makes it feel more planted. Don't get me wrong - the T2 was still the best handling car I'd had to that point. The Sag just feels a little bit better.

Interestingly, I've never tried a Tuscan with Nitrons, but a friend who runs them swears they make a noticeable difference to the ride and handling.

Makes sense. I had Nitrons fitted to the Chim, and it totally transformed the ride. I love the look of the Sag, and they are getting to a manageable price, but i think i'd miss being able to take the roof off.
