hose from engine to water pump

The hose coming from the engine (4.0 ; pre serp cat) to the water pump has to be repalced quicky.

Have you by chance Rover spare part number of this hose ? (for a pre serp. engine 4.0 ltr) or alternative after market spare parts references ?

Are you talking about the bypass hose from the front of the inlet manifold to the water pump, or the heater return hose? The bypass is from a RR 3.9 classic. No idea what the heater hose is from, but in an emergency you could simply blank off both sides while you find a replacement.

One hose goes from near the rad return pipe on the water pump to the pipe from the heater that is clipped to the bottom of the manifold. The other hose goes from the rear of the water pump to a hose connector screwed into the front of the inlet manifold.

I'd simply get straight pipes the correct dia & cut to length or even better the bendy wire reinforced ones?

Both pipes are from a rover sd1 vitesse from 81-86

I replaced both of these with pipes from rimmer bros http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/rimmer/rover/v8engine/...

Pic of carb manifold but pipes are the same.


ERC2278 and ERC2279 part numbers.

The bends are pretty tight I think you would restrict the flow using straight hose.

Thats the baby - the S shaped hose.
Have you checked the other one too?
On my V8S it looked fine till I removed it, then the ends inside looked very tired.
Could be worth getting both bearing in mind the postage you will have to pay.
It's well worth giving Rimmers a call - they are very helpful.

I can't quite work out why I can see 2 jubilee clips in the background - is that hose joined?

I suspect what you're seeing is one clip attaching the hose to the metal return pipe from the heater, and the other connecting the small return hose from the throttle body heater to its spigot on the side of the metal pipe.

I will call Rimmers and hope I could find a solution locally with a RR part number.
