I saw this on ebay.

Do these work? Do they really remove swirls and light scratches? Are they safe for the finish?

Thanks!

I have never, at any point in my life, felt the urge to polish a cloth.

ETA... I quite like the odd scratch, and what have you on a watch, (unless it is a hideous dress watch).

Yes
Yes
Yes for cases and bracelets with a polished finish they work a treat. Wouldn't think they'd be any good on bead blasted finishes thought, but others may know better on that score.

Unrelated, but I bought some of this :

...for a few pounds to tart up some old Swatch watches in my collection. I expected nothing, but within 30 seconds of not-very-much-effort-involved polishing the plastic 'crystals' were like brand new. Well recommended for plastic.

You can use Brasso on plastic crystals too. Very effective.

The only thing is that aren't these products not filling in scratches but actually smoothing DOWN the material around the damage?

Yep, so dont do it to brushed metal or plated.

It saved me the cost of a new crystal for an old watch I found on ebay. It should work on mineral crystals too if you have the patience.

It's easy, just pilfer some cotton wool from the missus and rub away. If there are any deep scratches, rub at 90 degrees to it.
