I tried to create an account on tZ yesterday but it says new account creation is currently disabled?

Any ideas why?

Cheers,
Steven

The owner rarely opens it because of spammers. There are occasional windows but at the moment he's closed until mid-August.

Damn spammers. Spoil things for everyone.

I was hoping to join up too.

Hmm, I just created an account, but it must be approved by the board administrator.
I won't hold out much hope then...

I think the challenge of registering adds to the quality of the forum I think week days are the best time to register but the owner is on holiday for the next couple of weeks so i doubt it will be open till after then.

You might not be able to post in the sales corner till you've got 50 posts but you can always PM the seller, I've nearly bought a coupe of watches on there now but I've only got about 20 posts.

My issue with TZ is that I'm a browser, and only an occasional contributor. I've even bought from board members! However, as I don't use my account much, it gets removed. Bit annoying. I've not bothered re-registering again.

I'm a new TZ member...really polite, informative and less tosh talked than other fora.

(This section is also very polite.)

Guys, TZ isnt there to be a selling and buying site, thats just an adjunct to the main purpose which is to allow enthusiasts to exchange idea's and give advice. Yes, the trading bit adds a lot of interest and fun but thats not the primary purpose; reading some of these comments gives the impression thats what some people are (only) looking for and as has been said the quality of the forum is kept up by deliberately limiting membership.

It's like Pistonheads in 1999 - a 'one man in a shed' operation with Eddie sitting in front of valves and degraaf generators cackling rather like Ted did.

^ Better add that I think this is a good thing!
