Granturismo Servicing costs etc and standard / S or Auto ?
Discussion
So I have been lent a Granturismo whilst my 997 2s in the garage and I have to say I absolutly love it so far in three days I have done 900 miles !!!! My 355 did 418 miles in the last 12 months !!!
So I am now thinking seriously about changing the 2s for a Granturismo so can anyone help on running cost examples and the difference in the models
I do 45k work miles a year but would probably buy an older s class to do say 25k and do the rest in the Granturismo
Thanks

Bought one new c 18 months ago. 12000 mile to date and no major service likely until about another 6 months. Car has been superb, not one fault, squeak or rattle. Fantastic on long journeys, 700/800 miles coming back from Italy and got out as fresh as we got in. It's the "cooking" version with the 4200 engine and autobox. Have driven an "S" and to be honest I couldn't detect much difference. What the pundits usually miss is that once around 6/7k miles have been clocked up the thing loosens up anyway. Plenty quick enough for me. Alternative car a good idea though, in our case a Range Rover for carting crap to the dump etc.
All in all a great car that does exactly what a great GT should do and will be ordering another in a couple of years or so.

The standard GranTurismo has the same engine as my GranSport, so I imagine the servicing costs are not too different. I paid around 1500 quid last year for the 2 year service plus options, 400 quid this year for the service.
I'm sure you are fully aware, but large mileages will very likely shave 1000's of the resale price of the GranTurismo. High mileage modern Maserati's aren't that well regarded by the buying public, generally speaking (not sure why).

I think its case that many are bought as a weekend car or 3rd/4th car and end up with pretty low miles. Come time to sell/buy, who would want a car with 50k on the clock when you can have one with 12-15k therefore they have to drop the price to move the high mileage car on.I'm sure you are fully aware, but large mileages will very likely shave 1000's of the resale price of the GranTurismo.
