Do Lambo's use the same SD3 gear as Ferraris and Massers? I was asking yesterday at Merdian if a salesman could get the Gallardo I am interested in, plugged in, to get a few readings (Clutch wear etc), he said that they only had the gear to read Ferrari's and Maserati's and it would not be compatable with a Lambo. Is this correct?

Another quick question, are the engine covers easily swappable? I fancy a glass one. Is it mega money to buy the cover and then get it swapped over?

Thanks

Peter

I know it is possible to get readings off the car for clutch wear etc, however I don't know if it is compatible with the Ferrari equipment. The other thing is that I don't know if they can check clutch wear on a manual or not, I know it's possible for e-gear though.

As for the engine cover, it would probably be possible to buy and swap the standard engine cover for one with glass, how easy they are to find and how much they cost I don't know.

Sorry I couldn't be more help. I'm sure someone will be along soon who is more use.

This is the only aftermarket glass rear cover I have seen :

I think it would be even more expensive to find an original one, plus quite rare I would imagine.

Sorry I can't be of any more help, good luck.

Pretty sure an exact reading of the clutch is only possible on e-gear cars.

Thanks for your answers.

So to determine clutch wear on a manual, do you have to be reliant on a visual inspection? What about brakes, is that visual also?

Thanks

Seem to remember one of the lambo specialists posting how to test for clutch wear on the manual (ie to tell if its knackered) a year or more back. All I can remember was that you put it into a certain gear and try and move off but there was a lot more too it than that.

I have spent most of today searching for information so I can avoid asking further questions, but I cant find anything about measuring clutch wear on a manual.

I remember this post here a while back too,

It was something to do with how much the revs drop or something - I think it may have been Traxx that mentioned it.
