Electrical gremlin.

Have just got my car back from body shop, got it home and polished it.

Came out later to drive it and the fuel pump wouldnt prime, looked at all the fuses and relays and all seemed ok. Called RAC who came out and looked over everything.

They think that the fuel relay and injectors are not getting power through to them, we bypassed the relay and the fuel pump works. but nothing is reaching the injectors. Located the fuel cutoff switch and reset this. But nothing still. Apparently it is acting as if the inertia switch has been tripped.

The RAC bloke was at a loss and had to leave in the end.

My question is, is there something glaringly obvious im not doing/seeing, or does anyone have any ideas ?

Injectors are powered from the Main relay, not the fuel relay.

The RAC guy thought it may all be linked somewhere along the line.

Is there anything common that could cause the fuel pump, and injectors to stop working ?

I thought that to start with, but you could get fuel pump to run if you bypassed the wires someplace. Didnt think this would work if the immobiliser was acting up ?

I had an issue with my fuel pump a few months ago and got some great replies.

One thing that confused me was that the fuel pump relays, located in the passenger footwell, are not located in the fuse board. They are part of the wiring loom behind the board. Two silver Bosch relays are the culprits. I tested both with a 9v battery and found one wasn't energising.....I replaced mine for £8
