Boycott it.
I'm not trying to start trouble, but....

Why?
I don't understand why people are getting shirty about it. A private company raised private money and tried to help out. No public money has gone into it, so, as a private company they would want/need to get some money back?
.....and yet people are determined to sit on the solid M6Free going nowhere fast?
...I'd use it for £2, infact, I'd pay a fiver if it cut huge amounts of time off my journey.
...or am I missing some massive point somewhere?
What's the deal with exceeding 70 on this road? It's nice to pick up speed after being stuck in traffic on the normal part of the M6, but being a private road, do the police still police it as far as speeding goes?
I just back from California where I drove along a motorway that has regular lanes and toll lanes (running alongside each other and separated by ballards). I saw police cars on a couple of occasions just picking off people in the toll lanes.
It would be nice to think that your 2 quid bought you a bit of freedom as well as an open road.

in all honesty - everyone from PH could boycott it any they wouldn't know the difference!
i say in protest wheelspin like mad away from the toll boths! let's cover the out section with so much rubber that they have to replace the tarmac!!
ploughing into the actual toll booth would provide a better effect but is neither advised, nor good for your automobile!

Good place to lose your license. I got clocked by a Beemer and had the thrill(not) of watching the replay with the BiBs saying 'that's you just out of sight we catch you soon....any minute now' Then they did at 108. Good news (if you can call it that) is that they offered me 3 points @ £60 for 95. Why? I don't know and didn't hang around to ask. Every time I use it now there are three cars pulling, plus a laser on the bridge.
Not much chance of them catching anyone on most parts of the M6 these days is there !! When was the last time anyone in a traffic jam got done for speeding.. ??
Wouldn't you go for the easy targets if it was your choice... ?
I'm looking forwards to getting home and trying it out - should cut some travelling time out for me on the way up to Widnes from Southampton... !!
Although I did it in 4 hrs a few weeks ago, by using the M3, A34, M40, A452(from M40 at Warwick) & A50/A34 up to Knutsford.. (had been taking up to 2 hrs longer on the M6)

Definately worth the few quid. I do agree with the idea of boycoting it, but I'm happy to let someone else boycott it on my behalf at 35mph on the old M6 while I blast down the toll road at silly speeds £2 lighter !
I went on it on a journey from Kent to Wrexham recently and it made the journey so much more enjoyable. £2 well spent. I also had to pay £1 to cross the Thames at Dartford - now that annoys me after they said they would stop charging to use it!
