996TT Aero kit - honest opinion?..

Looking at a 996TT at the moment and it has everything on it I want and is even the right colour, only small challenge is - it has the 'Aero Kit' on it...

What do people think of this kit? - Does it make the car look a bit OTT or dated, I'm just not sure?

If I buy the car I would happily swap the rear tail gate/spoiler and front valance with someone who has the standard kit. PM if interested..

I've got a TT X50(2004)in Arctic Silver without aero. I'm really not sure what I prefer but the aero certainly wouldn't put me off. The only negative is that any scrapes to the front splitter would show up more readily on the aero pack car being painted.

I'm amazed how quick these things are, enjoy!

A 911 Turbo should be all lairy spoilers and scoops in my opinion...

aerokit is a plus for me, not one that I would pay more for though

Mine does not have aerokit, and in retrospect I am glad, I like the front arekit splitter but not the back, with aerokit does the spoiler on the back sill move up and down?

No, Aerokit rear spoiler is fixed and I reckon Aerokit front splitter costs more than 160 quid when you smash it to bits!

I had a 996 Turbo with an Aerokit and it was an absolute nightmare. I went though 3 front lip spoilers in 12-months. Mild inclines (drives, parking garages, etc) and speedbumps are the worst enemy of this car.

Looks great but in practical terms, it was far from ideal.

how much lower is the aerokit in reality? Thought most of the lower look is just a visual thing because the lip is painted on the aerokit but black plastic on the std car.
