I missed this the first time round as I was living in Oz till 1997. I do know some of the catchprases, "suits you sir" and the Ted love thing but apart from that and seeing some clips on comedy link showsI have never watched an episode...until the other night.

It's not that funny.
Midly amusing at best and rather disappointing.

What a let down. frown

Maybe it's because I didn't see it when I should of?

It was revolutionary for its time, comedy has moved on a bit now though.

I loved the show. Not watched any repeats recently though so don't know if the humour would have (not "of" wink ) aged well.

But I was thinking the other day that the last series of Harry Enfield and Chums should be repeated. The one with the Polish coffee shop girls and the "Modern wk" shop. hehe

I thought that was brilliant.

You're wrong.

The Fast Show is the best sketch show ever made, no exceptions. And in the top 5 comedy shows of all time.

It was the show that really got me into watching comedy, it has made me laugh more than anything else and it still has me in stitches if I watch it now.

It's one of those very rare shows that just makes me laugh anytime I watch, no matter how many times I have seen it before. For comparison the others in this group are Father Ted (Best sitcom ever) and The Simpsons (series 1-7 only)

Sketches like 'Lets off road' 'Nice artist' 'brilliant!' 'Colin Hunt' 'Competitive Dad' 'Ted & Ralph' and 'Billy bleach' have me laughing out loud just thinking about them.

Don't know why but I used to and still do think the opening sequence with Dave Angel is great.

you need to watch more than one

its gets funnier because you anticipate what is going to happen- ideally you also need to have seen the first few to understand the development of the characters- Ted and posh chap is really funny once you have seen the scooter scene, and remains funny ever after- oh and the death of ted's wide scene!

You have to watch more than one show to get it, you might have to watch a whole series (the first series wasn't the best one) before you get into it.
