ford puma very annoying fault help :)

Hey im new here and have come here to see if i can get a bit of help with a few faults im having with my puma.
It's a 2001 1.7 an there are two main problems that i need help with.
1. There is a squeak from the engine bay at idle tickover.
2. All the speedo dials have stopped working recently but will occasionally got to full then drop back. i shall be honest in the recent rain we have been having i have driven through a very large puddle
Otherwise this car is a fantastic little drive love it to bits.
