Allow me to present... the electric showerhead!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDz11GnF_jQ&eur...

yikes

Spot the inherent flaw? i.e. bare-arsed electric conductors directly in the water, with not so much as an isolating transformer in between the user and the mains...
Apparenty these works of genius are typically supplied with 'leccy via humourously bodge-tastic Costa Rican "wiring", presumably designed for shock value wink

Other interestingly-engineered bits of thermo-electric death here:

Once again: yikes

I've always thought electric showers in general were quite dangerous. You've got a flow of pressurised water and a powerful electric current running within cm of each other, all built and sealed by the lowest possible bidder in the MrMiyagiMeloveyoulongtime factory.

Plus if anything does go wrong, you'll be standing naked in a pool of water at the time...

Most of the showers I used in Peru had exposed wiring in the bathroom biggrin Ok, still had the inner sheath (colour coded stuff), but nothing else. Somewhat alarming before you got used to it biggrin
