It comes down to the parents not teaching these kids the basics to cope with day to day living. I may not have liked it but I earnt my pocket money by doing saturday jobs around the house such as vacuuming, polishing, doing washing etc.
The only thing I never learned very well was cooking but I got there in the end. (I was always good at cakes etc)

Exactly! you see the parents on the show and they do everything for them. i'd never have got away with not lifting a finger! and rachel who just got thrown out appears to have a drinking problem and a problem finding a hair brush!! she's a mess!The only thing I never learned very well was cooking but I got there in the end.
