Hello looking for some advice here.

i;ve spent several days ringing round trying to locate a new driving lighgt as my old one is smashed, after speaking to cibie they say they can only supply them to TVR, after speaking to my local TVR main dealer they say there haven't been able to get them for months and it could be several months till they find a new supplier.
Anyone bought one recently? as my MOT is fast appoaching and i'm running out of ideas.

Thanks!

I'm not too sure about where to get a replacement but is a driving light an MOT failure?

If it's actually main beam, as in the Griff, then I suppose it is.

You could use the Ring round (they do a variety of shapes)driving lamps. They take a bit of work (drilling 3 holes in the back and using the adjusting screws off the old ones). But as they are £15 for both they are a lot cheaper. They fit OK too - about 7mm further forward but not enough so that anyone notices. Now if they get bust its a quick, cheap job to replace them

Aside from the fact that they are main beam on the Griff my understanding is that any lamp fitted must work and the lens be un-broken.

believe there is no problem getting cracked lights through MOT as long as the beam pattern meets the testing requirements

Yes, that is certainly my experience. It's one of those objective areas that can depend on where you go, I think.

I was thinking of perhaps Douglas Valley Breakers... or (and I think they are slightly diffierent lens pattern but the overall size) the driving lamps on the S3c/4/V8S are, I seem to remember, from those 80's BMW 3 series with the twin headlamps, so what about those? Rich...

Now you mention it I think they will let a "crack" go if there is no visible water (ie condensation) inside the lens. They assume that it is a surface crack and not all the way through.

Just noticed the bulb has gone in one of my driving lamps. Are they easy to change or a pig to get at?

Have seen some square shaped ones on a pic of a Griffith on here somewhere.
Thats if you get really stuck mind, not sure they look the part in the rounded ends of the grill.
