Just make sure it's less than 200mm in height (inc the terminals), some of the newer sizes are 220mm and won't fit.

Looks like an optima red top may be the best bet?

200mm high, what width and length does it need to be (im away from the car at the moment)

Also what sort of cca.

Cheers

optima RT-S 4.2 all the way. fitted mine. fits under the pannel nice, terminals fit nice, no extention of cables etc, turns the car over so much quicker now. it has something like 690CCA's or more.

I've just fitted an Odyssey PC 1230 from Devon 4x4 - pricey but fits perfectly and after researching the forums the extra cranking power really works great.

Here's a picture of it being fitted and fits like a glove as well as having an amazingly good cranking power :-)

Fitted an Exide Maxima 900DC

900CCA's & deep cycle battery! Seems to do the job, although didn't allow the clamping bracket to be used, fitted well though, so thats not really a problem.

Beware those red power leads being pushed onto the exh manifold by the scuttle panel (Which is what happened to mine when a bodyshop had to remove and refit it to charge the battery - the resulting fire almost wrote it off). Please tie-wrap them out of the way!

Optima red top sorted out all my cold-start problems. Spins much faster, starts every time, although I do tend to leave it on the optimate when in the garage for more than a week or so as I believe that the repeated draining by the alarm is what kills batteries more quickly than normal.

Good point!

Luckily mine wasn't hot as it hadn't been running so no danger there, but yes take note of safe fire-proof practices and tie-wrap all your leads out of the way :-)
