I have Tiscali, but they may not be showing you the 'correct' price - when I signed up I picked them because they had free phone line rental, but upon being connected they started charging me for the line rental as well. I phoned to complain and was told that it was only certain exchanges that they could do free line rental from, and that I wasn't eligible. Twunts. Would add that that may have changed now though - that was about 12 months ago, and to be honest I've not looked at my bill for the last few months!

Also, I believe that you have to use the Tiscali combined modem / wireless router, and it seems a lot less good than the Belkin router I had in a previous house - randomly seems to disconnect or have poor signal despite neither the router or the PC actually moving.

James wavey We use sky along with their line rental and have had no problems at all.
We were with BT and Tiscali and both suffered from poor speed and crap routers, by poor speed i mean less than half what it should have been.

I use BT for phone, and Sky for TV and Broadband - worked out the cheapest option as the 6MB broadband is only £5 a month and whenever they try to put the price up I threaten to cancel the whole package so they extend the £5 a month '6 month introductory offer' for another year... smile

Sky has only ever gone down once that I noticed in 3 years, as opposed to BT Broadband which failed regularly and was often very slow to the point of being unusable...

Sky is meant to be the best all round deal if you want TV aswell, otherwise most are as bad as each other but with BT we've had ok service.

Tiscali customer service is the worst in the world! Had a never ending battle with them becasue they told a pack of lies, which eventually ended up with them getting it all wrong again and I just gave up! They are liers and couldnt even organise a p!$s up in a brewery. Stay well clear!

I've had BT broadband for the past couple of years, and all seems pretty good. Line speed is ok (could always be better but that'd be the same for most providers). Customer service has actually been pretty good, even to the point of them ringing back on my mobile when needed.
However if you're in an area that Sky can offer their higher speed services then i'd go for one of them as they are a much better price.
